When I Look at You I Only See Potential!

I'm always surprised at the reactions I get when people find out I'm a stylist.  Almost everybody apologises for what they are wearing which I find quite strange, and slightly amusing.

The number of excuses is hilarious ... "don't look at me I was in a hurry this morning" ... "I don't normally wear this, it's just I'm not feeling well" ... "I usually look much better than this" ... what you should know about stylists - well me anyway - is that it's not our job to negatively judge or criticize what you are wearing.

When I look at you, I only see potential.  I do not think less of you, in fact quite the opposite is true.  I take particular notice of all your best bits and start thinking about how I could make the most of them.  My mind starts wondering and imagining how great you would look with a little tweaking here and there.

One thing I never do as a stylist is talk about 'problem areas' or parts of your body you want to 'disguise'.  Let's face it, we all have bit of ourselves that we would rather no one see, so rather than focus on that, I prefer to focus on the great parts of your body ... and believe me, all women have plenty of these.    Whether it be your slim hips great legs, great ass, fantastic breasts, creamy shoulders, elegant neck, good skin, feminine curves, bight eyes, luscious lips, silky hair .. the list goes on.  Every woman has at least one of these great attributes listed, and if you believe you don't, then time to get your head out of the delusion bucket my friend, I can guarantee that you do!

Speaking of delusion, I am often saddened by women's perceptions of themselves.  Take my girlfriend for example.  She is mid 40's, extremely attractive, great legs with a fantastic personality.  I have no idea what she sees in the mirror, because it sure as hell aint what I see!

Being an armchair psychologist (with absolutely no training), I understand that many factors affect how women view themselves, form failed marriages to motherhood.  At the risk of alienating all the mothers out there, I believe that some mothers are so committed, that they literally put their heart and soul into their families, quite often to the detriment of their own self worth.  Once the kids grow up, what's left?   A tired woman with a years old haircut and wardrobe full of boring clothes and crop pants!

Please trust me when I say that spending some time on yourself does not make you a bad mother or a bad person.  Using a personal stylist to help you rediscover yourself is an empowering experience.  It may appear that you are merely changing the way you dress, but the result is often much more profound.

A good stylist will only make you feel amazing, and everyone deserves to feel amazing!
