Burnt Sienna

Burnt Sienna will always remind me of art class and the smell of oil paint - but since that has absolutely nothing to do with fashion, I shall spare you the walk down memory lane and get on with our second last colour of the autumn-winter season.

Burnt Sienna is the quintessential autumn colour.  A rich hybrid of orange, coral and pink that will add an earthiness and warmth to any outfit.  This colour looks best in texture, such as wool, cashmere, leather etc.  I mean autumn leaves would not be as appealing if they were smooth right?!

When teaming Burnt Sienna with other colours, try rich colours like Majolica Blue, Iron or Honey Yellow.  If that makes a little scardy pants, try the neutrals such as Nomad or Creme Brulee.  If you want to make a statement, mix Burnt Sienna with Rapture Rose and American Beauty.
