To help you look your best every day, here is my list of top priorities ... the things you should think about before heading out the door.
The idea is to start from the top and work your way down. Steps 1,2 & 3 are a must with steps 4 & 5 being optional. See, so it really can be as easy as 3 steps to get ready!
- face
- hair
- clothes
- accessories

1. FACE
I used to have riding lessons from a woman who although may have been dressed in overalls and gumboots, always, without fail had on a little blush and her trademark bright red lipstick.
My fond memories of Dawn were no only of her amazing talent as a rider, but she had such presence. Her lipstick showed me that she cared ... about herself, about what she was doing and about life in general.
Do you care enough about yourself to wear lipstick ... or even a little gloss?
In order to tick off number one, you should complete a skincare routine (cleanse & moisturise), and apply as little or as much makeup as suits your personality. At the very least use a light dusting of mineral powder or tinted moisturiser, a sweep of mascara and lipstick / gloss.
2. HAIR
If you have had the same hairstyle for more than 2 years, it may be time for an update. Sorry to bust the bubble ladies, but unless you have the hair of a Greek Goddess, it will require some form of attention and maintenance ... every day. Whether it be product, blow wave or straighten, all hair needs a little something each day to look its best.
3. CLOTHES
Whatever your style and whatever your taste, the important thing is to look like you got dressed on purpose. If you are not sure how to do this. an easy rule of thumb is to dress mainly in simple classics or basics and dress up your outfit with shoes and accessories. Looking like you got dressed on purpose is not about being dressed up every day, it's about looking like you have a 'theme' or a 'style' going on.
Jeans, Striped Tee, Shoes, Belt, Sunglasses, Bag, Scarf, Cuff
5. NAILS
Nicely manicured nails are nice. Overdone, over designed, fancy pictures or sparkles are not so nice.
There's no point doing your nails and having them professionally manicured if you don't wear makeup or care about your appearance. So go for simple nails ... last.

4. ACCESSORIES
Accessories are about adding a finishing touch. Whether you are going for simple casual, smart casual or elegant event, accessories will make or break your outfit. Accessories include jewellery, shoes, scarves, bags, belts, sunglasses, head-wear etc. You can never have too many accessories on hand, and they don't have to cost you a fortune. I pick up most of my accessories on sale plus I have necklaces and rings that were my mothers and grandmothers that I still wear today. Fashion as we know will eventually roll around time and time again, so having a great selection on hand means that you are always ready to look your best.
