Retailers spend an awful lot of money each year trying to temp us into their stores. Having spent most of my life in retail, the answer to this question is fairly simple ... offer your staff comprehensive training, financial rewards and respect and they intern will offer exceptional customer service that will keep us coming back! (That's a whole other rant best left for another time)!
As consumers, we have the luxury of deciding exactly which stores deserves our money. Many stores, rather than offer blanket discounts to everyone, choose to offer targeted benefits to reward customers who are loyal to their business. This premise is fantastic for us, as we can use the cards to our advantage and get a lot more bang for our buck. Provided they do not cost anything to join, some loyalty cards are too good to pass up.
My tip is to sign up for many cards - this way you can shop wherever the best offers are available and stretch your dollar further.
Here's a lowdown on some of the loyalty cards available that I think are worth joining.

Did you know - the number one reason customers choose not to sign up for a loyalty card is that they don't want a purse full of store cards! A good point, although easily solved ... use a specific card holder or coin purse to house all of your non essential cards.
