Going through my overflowing fabric cupboard, I came across some beautiful plaid wool that I bought a few years back. The little light bulb above my head went off so I grabbed my pad and started to draw some ideas.

Once my idea was final, I drafted a pattern and worked out how to construct the garment.

I deliberately made my cape with full shoulders and longer 'mock' sleeves as I liked the overall aesthetic these features would provide. Once it was finished, it turns out that the design features allow for greater arm movement which makes my cape very comfortable to wear. Bonus!
So how am I going to wear my cape? Easy, with jeans, dresses, skirts, slouchy pants - in fact everything I would normally wear with a jacket or knit.

This cape took me around 5 hours to make. Once I get an idea on my head I stop for nothing!
... think I might make another ...
What have you made lately?

Oh I love this, I'm in the market for a cape this season too
