Many local labels hold an annual warehouse sale to clear through previous collections and samples.
In my experience, the prices offered at these events are crazy cheap. The last garage sale I attended was Obus, where I scored a beautiful white summer dress for $35, a great top for $60,and a shirt for $45.
Most of the time, sales such as these are held in the brand's office, warehouse, one of their stores or on offsite location. Being local labels, they are quite often manned by the owner /designer which is a special treat.
So how do you know when sales are on? The best way is to follow your favourite local labels on Twitter, like them on Facebook or sign up to their newsletter directly from their websites. Alternatively you can 'like' me on Facebook, as I will always try and let you know of any great sales coming up.
I cannot tell you how many great items at bargain prices I've picked up over the years.
It is always tempting to grab a mass of bargains in the frenzy, but remember, it's not a bargain if it doesn't fit you, flatter you, or won't add value to your wardrobe.
