Contrary to popular belief, I'm not about to run out of the door in a crazed frenzy to get to the shops. Buying nothing new was quite cathartic, and although I did miss spending, I don't feel I have a gaping hole that needs to be filled with 'stuff'.
I do however, need to pick up some basics that I have done without for the month.
Like a new pair of footless tights. Mine have a rotten great ladder from crutch to ankle which I have put up with all month. They are 200 denier, so not obvious to the passer buy, but the massive hole in the crutch has been less than comfortable to wear. Also, as boring as it sounds, I need some socks, some skincare, toner for my printer and of course some new shoes.
Buy Nohting New month has proven a couple of things to me.
- I don't spend as much money as I thought I did.
- I love having willpower thrust upon me - I guess this is why weightwatches and the like work so well.
I guess the whole moral of the program was to make us more concious about what we are spending our money on, and it definitely worked.
So now that concious spending is at the forefront of my mind, I am looking forward to a Fair Fashion event that is coming up in December.

The candidates with a fashion degree or a degree in textiles and apparel management can step into the rewarding career of a fashion buyer. It not only gives mental gratification but also handsome returns, if done with full vigor.
