A little while back, I did a photo shoot with artist Brad Gunn to create images for his website.
My brief for the session was to capture natural images in keeping with Brad's style and personality.
The shoot took place in Brad's Richmond studio. Brad's workspace was very inspirational, every space was occupied with art in various stages of completion. (I secretly wanted to ditch the shoot and just play with all his stuff)! There were so many beautiful textures in the studio to capture, so naturally I walked away with a swag of pics to edit. Here are just a select few.

What shoot would be complete without some behind the scenes photos - I really do get in some weird positions when I photograph! During this session I found myself up a ladder, on a milk crate and on the floor. Luckily, myself and my Limedrop cardi came away unscathed.
Thanks Brad, the shoot was loads of fun. Remember us little people when you're famous!

The Stylist, The B'itch and the Wardrobe
I had the pleasure of working with Siobhan McCuskey this week, owner of b'itch body oils, to develop some lifestyle shots for her brand. An Aromatherapist, Siobhan is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of essential oils and massage.
Just like me, Siobhan likes to begin her day with a nanna cup of tea and cake, so whilst we were tucking into her home made organic banana and raspberry loaf, (delicious) I asked lots of nosy questions about her brand ... her sister once called her a 'hippy bitch' in jest, and the name just seemed to make sense for her line of products. The name really suits Siobhan, no, not because she's a bitch ... because she has such a quirky sense of humour and a relaxed attitude - which also makes getting to know her really easy. All b'itch body oil products are lovingly developed and blended by Siobhan and once perfected, are produced locally.
As you would expect from someone who is into natural therapies and well being, the brief for our shoot was to keep the styling and makeup simple and natural. Because Siobhan's product textures are so beautiful, I wanted to ensure there was plenty of texture in the photos. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny Melbourne day so our shoot took place in Siobhan's wonderfully fragrant garden.
It's easy to see where Siobhan gets her inspiration. Her garden and home are abundant with sensory delights. I got to try the b'itch body oil blends on the day, and came home smelling like one hot b'itch (that's Lemon, Lime, Rosemary and Damask Rose to you). Other blends in her collection are:
fiesty b'itch - Bergamot, Lime, Lavender & Frankincense
rich b'itch - Sweet Orange, Lavender, Damask Rose, Geranium
sexy b'itch - Sweet orange, Rosemary, ylang Ylang.
Siobhan has lots of new products in development too ... can't wait.
You can purchase b'itch body oils from the website or visit Siobhan at the upcoming Suzuki Night Markets that commence on Wednesday 17th November from 5.30 to 10.00pm or the Coburg Night Market which runs every Friday night in November, starting on the 5th.
Well I definitely fell in love with b'itch body oils after the shoot, and have gained a new little friend to boot!
I love to support creative individuals who produce locally ... maybe you do too?
