A brand that I had never heard of before - L'Ascari. 'SQUEEEEEEE' ... having spent nigh on 20 years in the beauty & toiletries industry, (yes I started my career at 12), I know a thing or two about scented candles and I was thrilled to have an unfamiliar brand in my hot little hands.
I immediately got down to business and gave the candle and the packaging the once over. Nice embossed box, cute little 'how to' card, lovely tissue, great label, simple and elegant glass. Great so far I thought, now for the all important burn test. Candle lit. (It usually takes poured candles 5 or 10 minutes to warm and 'throw' fragrance). Tick-tock. And there it was. The most intriguing, unusual, yet utterly delightful scent I had ever come across in a candle. Vintage Leather. Although I detected a soft floral note, the heart of the fragrance was a wonderful medley of the smokey scent of old books, antique timber furniture and of course, vintage leather.
