Good Golly Miss Molly

Earlier this year, a friend of mine moved house.   When carrying the first boxes in from the truck, I was impressed at the awesomeness of her new digs.  The newly polished boards gave a freshness to this 1950's gem, complete with etched glass doors, original door bell, stone fireplace, and [mostly] original sassy green bathroom.  But the best was yet to come.  As I stood in the immaculate 50's original, pale yellow kitchen, the clouds parted and a chorus of angels began to sing.
I immediately knew it would be the setting for a future photo shoot.

How fantastic is my friend.  She obviously had me in mind when she signed the lease.  Obviously.

In addition to finding the perfect photo shoot location, it just so happens that my friend's daughter is stunningly beautiful and has been my photo muse for some years now.  Because of her sultry good looks and killer curves, she was the perfect model for my 50's inspired shoot.

Here's a sneak peek at the results ...

Since it is my natural style to pull together looks using vintage pieces, I had a blast scouring through vintage and OP shops for this wardrobe.  I even managed to source original silk stockings and an original 50's bullet bra - which cannot be seen, but the silhouette is unmistakable!

Now, I am no hair stylist, but after watching a few tutorials on good ol' YouTube, I pin curled Aimee's hair the night before the shoot and was delighted at the result.  Who knew I could do hair!

Massive cudos to makeup artist Michelle Hoang, who created this beautifully authentic 50's look.

And a huge thank you to model Aimee, whose breathtaking good looks made shooting her a dream ... as usual!

Oh - and thanks to my friend who had the good sense to move into a house that suited my own selfish needs!
