I'm happy to be thrifty and re-purpose clothing, but I believe that it is the accessories, namely shoes, that give our wardrobes versatility and turn our classic clothing in to fashionable ensembles.
I know I'm not alone with my shoe obsession, and anyone with more than 40 pairs of shoes is instantly my best friend. This post, however, is for the fancy foot challenged out there. You know who you are!
I believe women should have at least fifteen pairs of shoes in their wardrobe. At the absolute minimum.
1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 15
I'm not kidding. Fifteen pairs of shoes will see you through your daily foot fancy needs and to almost any event that crops up. Are you OK? Need some smelling salts?
This is the bottom line. The bare essentials.
(I've kept the styles shown here very simple as not to scare you)!
Heels
1. Black pumps
2. Nude heels
3. Coloured heels
Choose whatever heel size suits you and whatever style is to your taste. Having at least one black, one nude and one coloured heel in your wardrobe will ensure you are ready for any dressy occasion.
Wedges

5. Summer wedges
Wedges are incredibly comfortable and easy to walk in, which makes them a perfect work or casual shoe. Choose whatever colour you like, however a nice neutral will offer you loads of versatility.
Summer wedges are great to wear casually with jeans, dresses or skirts.
Flats
6 - 9. Four different pairs
Try to have at lease one neutral or nude pair of flats mixed with some colour.
It doesn't matter what your personal taste, flat shoes team perfectly with jeans or pants for days when you have lots of running around to do.
Sandals

11. Heeled sandals
Flat sandals are perfect for those hot days when you feel like wearing as little as possible.
Heeled, strappy sandals are perfect for summer evening occasions as well as hot work days.
Don't forget to adorn your toenails with a nice summer colour!
Boots

13. Short boots
Having at least one long and one short pair of boots in your shoe wardrobe will add lots of versatility to your winter, autumn and spring wardrobes.
Ultra Casual
14. Casual sneakers
15. Sport shoes
Casual sneakers are perfect for those days where you need ultra casual shoes, but are not engaging in sport.
The sport shoes are for just that - gym or sport. Only.
Although fairly simple styles have been used to demonstrate my theory, shoes are a great way to express your personality, so feel free to go as wild as your heart desires!
Storage
With so many varieties of shoe boxes on the market, you can keep your shoes in tip top shape whilst keeping them easy to find on those frantic mornings.
Naturally I have a little more than 15 pairs of shoes in my wardrobe, as I'm sure do many of you.
