Celebrating 200 years of wedding fashion, this collection was chosen from the glorious Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The exhibition was PACKED, which made it difficult to see the dresses at times.
It did give me the opportunity to eaves drop on conversations about the dresses, which I love.
There were the obvious seamstresses who were pointing out each sewing flaw, the wanna be designers who were critiquing each piece and announcing each designer name loudly so we'd know they knew the designer names, the Nanna's who though everything was just lovely, the comediennes who regaled their friends with 'that dress would fit my little finger' jokes, the soon to be brides who wanted everything!
Before we entered, I challenged my friends to pick one dress that they had to wear. Naturally this fantasy also included a reduction in size and age for all of us, which is the best type of fantasy I say.

Runner up for me was a 70's number that I overheard a couple of Nanna's likening it to their tablecloths at home.
Two of my friends all chose this delightful Vera Wang wedding dress (left).
The fourth friend chose the 1920's printed dress with matching coat.
This little news grab gives a great overview of the exhibition.

Overall it was a great exhibition. My only wish is that they displayed images of each bride in the dress (where possible) next to the dress. There were a few of course, which made the dress come to life in my mind.
And by the way ... Bendigo is so pretty!
While wondering around town, we seemed to be running into brides everywhere. I even stalked this one down the isle! Well, it was a big church, so they wouldn't have noticed.
This lovely bride walked down the isle to the beautiful 'Songbird' by Fleetwood Mac. Almost brought a tear to my eye!
The only dampener was the black underwear worn by one of the bridesmaids - she'll regret that when they get the photos back.
Did you go see The White Wedding Dress exhibition?
I'd love to know what you thought.
