I'm a big fan of geometric prints. Take this pint by Andy Gilmore. It's colourful and fun ... and if you squint really hard it looks like a crowd of people!
Maybe it's because I grew up with bright orange geometric wallpaper in our lounge-room. At the time I thought it was all kinds of groovy, by the 80's it was hideous and now I wish I had it in my house!
While consuming all things fashion from the current Fall 2012 runway shows, like the good little stylist that I am, I was thrilled to see Prada present a vast array of clashing wallpaper style geometric prints.
The long sleeveless coats and flat ironed hair give a nod to 70's inspiration. I have long been a fan of Miuccia Prada's style. Her collections are always interesting and incredibly inspiring. Even if you do not like the actual garment, or cannot see yourself wearing it, you can certainly appreciate the creativity and freshness she pours into every piece.

Wait ye not for next winter fair maiden ... there are some great geometric print fashion and accessories in store right now. Not sure why I went all olde English on you there, but you get the idea. Go geometric yourself!
Those of you who have studied art or history will know that geometric prints appear in the architecture, artefacts and fashion of many cultures over the centuries. Making it's reappearance every few years or so only natural!
The colour and shapes in that Gorman necklace are cool.
ReplyDeleteI know! Love it!
DeleteInstantly want those Prada prints. I think the return to geometry also stems from the 20's/30's Gatsby revival with its art deco leanings this season. I'm glad we've skipped over flapper dresses and fringing for this!
ReplyDeleteDelicious! Mmm colour, I wanna lick it like Willy Wonka wallpaper! (colour causes me fantastical delirium!)
ReplyDeleteYES! I want Willy Wonka EVERYTHING!
