The Fall 2012 fashion show season kicks off in New York in a
matter of days, and like many of you, I wish I was front and centre to witness
all the shows in all their glory.
But alas, I must be content to watch from afar because, well quite frankly, I’d have a better chance of being invited to sing at the opera house than be invited to sit alongside the editors and celebs in the front row of the Marc Jacobs show. *sigh*

Lucky for us we have our own little fashion festival just
around the corner that allows all folk, even ordinary ones like you and me, to
attend and be swept up in the fabulous world of fashion.
With such a packed program, where do you start?? Here are a few of my personal picks.
RUNWAY
There are seven L'Oreal Paris Runway shows, each showcasing around 5 – 6 designers. Unlike fashion week where you see fashions and trends for the following season, the beauty of a fashion festival is that all fashion is current season, meaning that if you see something you like, you can head out and buy it immediately. click here for details.
Tickets start at $49.95 (excluding booking fees), and usually sell very fast, so get your skates on. Click here to book tickets
In addition to the seven runways shows are two of my favourite runway events:
1. The LMFF Independant Runway show that showcases some of Australia's emerging designers mixed with some established favourites. click here for details
2. The LMFF National Graduate Showcase (presented by Sportsgirl) highlighting some amazing newly graduated designers. click here for details There's a great write up featuring all graduates on the LMFF blog, where you can see the faces behind the innovative designs. - click here

SPECIAL EVENTS
There are some great special events to look forward to.
The first is Dita Von Teese's 'Von Follies' lingerie launch for Target. This runway show promises to be uber glamorous, but the best thing about it is that you can sit in the audience and choose the items you'd like for yourself. click here for details
The Spirit of the Black Dress is an exhibition that features ten emerging designers (both fashion & textile) with a focus on sustainability.

There are also a multitude of cultural events going on around Melbourne, from fashion workshops, afternoon tea, documentaries to of course shopping. click here for details
Don't forget to check out the multitude of FREE EVENTS available too.
I look forward to running into you during LMFF!
LOL, your blogs are always amusing to read ^^
