It's the 26th October and I am still alive. Miraculously. I have not imploded from the lack of buying anything new.
As much as this secretly pains me to say, given that I love stuff, and the buying of stuff, it has been quite refreshing to have a restriction placed on my spending. It's like I have borrowed someone else's will power, and I like it. I am 100% sure I can make it though the rest of the month.
I have had a couple of morning grumbles in my wardrobe. If only I had bought that Woodford & Co top, or the House of Wilde jacket, this outfit would be all kinds of awesome.
I'm even heading off to the Alice Euphemia sale tomorrow on behalf of a friend who cannot attend, and I am confident that I can resist the temptation to purchase anything for myself.
Not only have I bought nothing new thus far, I have hardly bought anything at all! I am 80% sure I can make it though the rest of the month.
So this is it. This is all that I have bought so far.
A pair of second hand summer sandals and a vintage bag from Take 2 Markets.
A second hand jacket from an OP shop.
A recycled vintage spoon necklace from local designer Greg Mann.
Which, now that I think about it, was taking the whole 'buy nothing' part of the quest a little too literally.
I'm 60% sure I can make it though the rest of the month!

well done, I'm so proud of you! And it's nearly the end :D
ReplyDeleteHope you make it - but love to know what you are going to blow it on, on the 1st!
ReplyDeleteGood work Meagan! Love the spoon necklace. Looks like the challenge has inspired your creativity even more than usual. Hope you find some treasures at Alice Euphemia!
